We work hard to keep this site accurate, but we are not infallible. If you spot an error — a wrong price, an outdated deadline, a mis-stated fact — we want to know about it, and we have a written process for putting it right.
How to report an error
Email hello@mtdpick.co.uk with:
- the page URL where you saw the error;
- what you believe is wrong; and
- if you have one, the source that says so (a provider website, HMRC guidance, or your own experience of the product).
The more specific you can be, the faster we can verify it. You don't need to be an expert — a one-line "this price changed" is enough to start.
What we check before fixing anything
Every correction is verified against the same sources we used for the original content — the provider's own website and HMRC's official MTD software list, plus any hands-on testing notes we hold. We don't edit on unsupported claims, and we don't edit to appease a vendor or a partner.
What happens after you report it
- Factual errors (a wrong price, a mis-stated rule, an outdated date) are fixed promptly — usually within a few working days.
- Judgement differences (a score you disagree with) are read, considered, and answered, but a score only changes where our published methodology says it should.
- Every material change is noted on the page and dated, so a reader can see what changed and when. This doubles as our internal change log.
Substantive changes are never silent
Wherever a fact a reader might rely on changes — a price, a plan, an HMRC status — we say so on the page and advance the "last verified" date. If you believe a change has gone unlogged, tell us.
Our promise
If we make a factual mistake, we correct it openly and quickly. We would rather have someone catch an error than let it mislead a reader into a bad decision. There is no charge for reporting an error, and no requirement that you be a subscriber or customer.
