What is an affiliate link?

How we mark affiliate links

Every affiliate link on this site is tagged with rel="sponsored noopener", opens in a new tab, and shows a visible Affiliate label. We also show a "Contains affiliate links" banner at the top of every page, in line with the UK ASA / CAP Code on advertising.

Our editorial promise

  • We do not rank by commission. Our rankings are based on our published methodology — HMRC MTD recognition, features, ease of use, value for money, and integrations. Commission never affects a score.
  • We only review HMRC-recognised software. If a product is not on the official gov.uk MTD ITSA list, we will not recommend it for MTD Income Tax compliance.
  • No fabricated testimonials. We do not invent user quotes. Where we use a reviewer, they are a real person who has used the software.
  • We clearly disclose affiliate relationships. Every page shows the disclosure banner; every product page links back to this page.
